Experience the local stories we have collected! Be part of a project celebration with good food, good people and good conversation.
Join our final event of the season - an outdoor picnic in the park!
BYOB/BYOE. (Bring Your Own Blankets / Bring Your Own Eats. We’ll supply light refreshments.)
We culminate the Make History Madison 2026 project with our East Side History party where we will share stories, memories, projections and the histories we have collected on this kickoff first year for Make History Madison.
Everyone is welcome! This picnic in Circle Park will include a discussion about Madison’s past, present and future, inviting you to participate or to just relax and observe.
As we wrap up the evening’s conversation and dusk sets in, we will light up the night with a projection show of people, stories and places that make Madison a local treasure.
This event is a joint program of the Madison Public Library, Whose Land, and the Make History Madison Project.
It was made possible by generous contributions from Alliant Energy, the Dane County Arts Commission, Madison Gas and Electric, the Willy Street Coop Community Reinvestment Fund, the Wisconsin Arts Board, and Wisconsin Humanities.
