Whose Land? Special Issue

A Letter from the Director

We write with open hearts to our partners, volunteers, followers – all.  Our community.

However you’re making sense of the events of this week, there is no denying that this moment is formidable and may well involve significant change for many of us – for some in tough ways.

Compassion is imperative right now. For ourselves. For each other as we fumble through our confusion and emotions. And eventually for those others who feel differently than we do.

We take pride in our mission to build connections and understandings “across cultural divides.”  Moments like these put those values to the test.  It can be difficult when trust is tenuous and when, for some, hearts have been broken.

Still, we write now to remind all of you of our commitment to build networks of collaboration across regions, classes, cultures and political ideologies. This work has never been more important.

We have identified opportunities to do this work in the upcoming months and we are excited to share some of those ideas with you over the next few weeks.

Until then, we wanted simply to say thank you for being part of and supporting what we do.

James Levy

Executive Director
