Hoorah! It’s Giving Tuesday!

Today we launch our December Giving Campaign. It’s a great moment to start us off by supporting our rebuilding effort.

We use stories and shared histories of land to connect people across cultural, regional, and class lines. Despite the tough loss of federal funding this year, that mission hasn’t been compromised.

Our programs have brought together Elders and teens at the Oneida Nation. We have led workshops on mapping and oral history for 9th and 10th graders in Madison, Wisconsin. We’ve trained teachers from over a dozen school districts on Long Island, NY. And we’ve inspired other cultural organizations in Milwaukee to use our community mapping methods and interactive approaches to local history in their own neighborhoods.

Your donation will help us revive and expand our programs and allow us to launch our newest effort: a series of citywide “Make History” programs in Madison, Wisconsin, Portland, Maine, and Long Island, New York. We’re excited to tell you more about these programs in the upcoming weeks.
